My work uses ‘the small incident’ as its theme - fragments of narratives which stay in our memory. The accidental and the random are sources for ideas – a sentence scribbled on a wall, a conversation with a stranger or a dream.
I use a mixed media approach – integrating the drawn or painted line with photography and scanned objects. Many of the objects used are found objects and figures are often taken from old family albums. The intention is to try to combine the personal with the universal.
There is a range of influences at play – the dadaist montage, the modernist aesthetic and contemporary illustration. Enjoy them as part art/part illustration/part story and nothing more. And please come back to see the new images that I make!
